In this talk at the USENIX SOUPS 2024 conference, I present research on designing AI-driven cybersecurity tools alongside product designer Siddharth Hirwani. Drawing on qualitative research with security analysts, we explore when and how AI should surface insights within complex workflows, emphasizing explainability, trust, and minimizing bias. We share how these findings informed real product features, including improving transparency in model outputs and designing AI-generated insights that help analysts make faster, more informed decisions.
